Dobres is a high quality PRE stallion, without a doubt, but what he can produce = well that is just a whole new level = just incredible!
Dobres is still quite young in terms of a breeding stallion, his oldest foals are 3 years old in 2016 but hopefully next year we might already see some of his offsprings in competition in Spain and elsewhere. His lines take a while to mature and so it will take a while before we see his first offspring looking like adults but there are already glimpses of that in them even at this age. Dobres CONSISTENTLY produces even better than himself = his foals look very similar independent of the mother, which is so extremely rare to find these days! I truly believe that once "the word gets out more", he will become one of the few PRE stallions out there where the breeder will always have a guarantee that when using him for breeding, his/her breeding program will increase in quality. Being a breeder myself, I know how valuable that is = breeding is tough and even with knowledge and data, it is still a guessing and hoping game most of the time, which gets very expensive and difficult. Having this kind of assurance is priceless and it is the biggest and best quality of Dobres.
He will ALWAYS pass on height. And i know many people say that about their stallion but rarely ever it is really true. But with Dobres, always, 100% of the time. His dam, LOTUS, was a true legend = you say her name in Spain and I guarantee that out of the most famous PRE breeders, they will ALL KNOW who you are talking about! And that speaks for itself. She was one of the very best mares in Spain of all times according to many and I totally agree. I met her when she was 24 years old, before she passed away and she was still stunning. At true 172 cm, she had the bone and build to go with it and her movement even then... well, that is how legends are made, beyond words. I am persuaded this is why Dobres produces so well, because of her. After all her children were almost all calificado and champions, including recent 2015 complete champion of Mexico mare. So, when I say, Dobres produces height, I mean he REALLY produces height. Given most of the lines get influenced by the mother line, it just makes sense.
He will also pass on movement = again, I personally see Lotus in it very much. All the foals have so much air time in them and so much quality. Lift and extension at the same time. Elasticity. You will always get movement in the foal, again see photos of the weanlings below. And he will pass on "RAZA" and bone= very important these days as many of the PREs just stopped looking like PREs! Dobres also passes on his easy and calm character, which is priceless in this breed because we all love it when even amateur owners can enjoy these incredible soulful horses.
